Christopher Palmer
Mindfulness coach, MBSR, and CAC
For the past 13 years, I have been meditating in the Zen tradition. Over the course of three years, I studied Buddhism extensively, including participating in three silent retreats. I have also completed a master’s-level mindfulness course. Once a week, I host a mindfulness-based recovery meeting. Right now, I hold a provisional certification as an addiction counselor in the state of Connecticut. For the past 14 years, I’ve dedicated myself to assisting those struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction. In addition, I have devoted the last 12 years of my life to supporting other people who are struggling with depression. In the past, I struggled with addiction, anxiety, and depression. I don’t just have book knowledge on these things; I also have personal experience and have discovered that mindfulness has helped me overcome these debilitating disorders. Using mindfulness and other techniques, I have accomplished several goals I once thought were beyond of reach. When I was actively abusing substances I struggled with anxiety, depression, and a lack of purpose on a daily basis. TheĀ methods I teach have allowed me to accomplish goals I could never have dreamed of before. Currently, I am furthering my education to become a licensed therapist. With the appropriate approach and the proper resources, I now believe that anyone can overcome challenges like anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, and substance abuse. I’ve found that cultivating an awareness of the present moment brings me a sense of calm, and I want you to join me on this journey.
